Lockpicks, picking locks, the best locks, lock protection, metal doors? Mottura, Mettham, Class, Cisa-Elbor, Cerber

On 19/08/2004, the 'Television Security Service' (TSB) of St. Petersburg showed a plot in which it is said that a group of thieves was caught, engaged in theft from apartments in a very original way. For the purpose of a more detailed explanation of this thieves' method, I decided to make illustrations with descriptions. The essence of the method is as follows. If you leave the key in the lever lock from the inside of the door (and as practice shows, most do), then you can easily take an impression from the key left in the lock using plasticine or similar material. And the next day, when you go about your business, the thief will calmly open your door with a made duplicate key. At the same time, the police, who arrived at your call on the fact of the theft of an apartment, states that the lock has no damage and is opened by 'picking a key'. Experts know that it is almost impossible to pick up the same (different) key for normally made lever locks just like that. The real number of combinations of lever locks Cisa, Kerberos and some others exceeds 200 million options. Thus, it is impossible to bring a wagon of keys with you, and it is very difficult to fit the key to the lock on site, although there is a method of 'deformation fingerprinting'. This method is complicated and not every thief is available in its complexity and duration. Of course, there are locks produced with violations of the technological modes of manufacturing, with increased gaps in the code slot between the leverage tooth and the bolt post. There are locks deliberately released with the same combination options on keys due to the low level of technological equipment and the desire to reduce their costs at cost. It is not difficult to find a key for such a lock. But the thieves, in addition to the available locks, have developed new ones that combine reconnaissance of the place of theft with the removal of an imprint from the key. So how do thieves open a lock without leaving a trace on the lock? For this method, you need plasticine, a little liquid oil, a metal plate about 10 cm long, about 0.5 mm thick, as wide as the width of the key bit and, for example, a clerical awl. I found a metal ruler at hand (see photo 1), which I modified on emery to the required size and, because I didn’t have an awl, I sharpened part of the electrode. Photo 1. A tool with which you can make an impression of the key left in the lock on the inside of the door. Technique for taking impressions from the key left in the lock on the inside of the door: 1. On a metal plate, you need to roll out plasticine to get a layer with a thickness of about 1-1.5 mm. 2. Lubricate the plasticine with oil on top so that it does not stick to the beard of the key. 3. We look through the keyhole and see the key, acting (raising or lowering) with an awl through the keyhole on the right or left side of the key bit, slightly turn the key so that there is enough space on the left to push the plate with plasticine. 4. Slide inside the lock under (or above) the beard of the key a plate with plasticine 'smeared' on it. 5. We remove the awl, the key returns to the horizontal position under the influence of the lever springs and the beard of the key is pressed against the plasticine, leaving its imprint there. 6. To obtain a good impression, you need to press the key to the plasticine again with an awl, acting on the right or left side of the key bit, as it is more convenient for you. 7. After the key bit has been pressed against the plasticine and an impression is obtained, we repeat the same procedure for the second key bit. And if we know a manufacturer that produces locks with a symmetrical combination, then one cast is enough, because The second half of the key bit is obtained automatically by direct or reverse symmetry. On the keys of the company Mottura, Seureme, Atra and others and their Russian counterparts Klass, Gerion, Chiza-Elbor, where the construction of a code mechanism of 6 levers with a double key bit is used, it is enough to take an impression once, since always having received one impression, It is easy to obtain the second by means of inverse symmetry. With a certain skill and training, the impression taking takes less than a minute. Photo 2. The photo shows the process of taking an impression from the key. In this experiment, you see the CERBER lock. It was on him that the caught thieves specialized. Manipulating an awl or other thin solid object with your right hand, slip a plate with plasticine with your left hand. Photo 3. In the photo you can see the resulting clear cast, according to which it will not be difficult to make a key, having at hand the necessary key blank and file. This blank is easy to buy at any key workshop for a penny. If the key is symmetrical, in most of all locks, then it is enough to take an impression once from any half of the key bit, but if the key is not symmetrical, then you will have to take an impression from two halves. If the key is symmetrical, then it is enough to take an impression once from either half of the key bit, but if the key is not symmetrical, you will have to take an impression from two halves. Photo 4. In the photo you can see the process of taking the impression
